"Water For People. Kickball For Nerds."

A one day kickball tournament will be held between 2PM and 7PM on June 12, 2010 at The Stazio Ballfields in Boulder, Colorado.  All profits from this day of kickballing will go to the Student Chapter of Engineers Without Borders at the University of Colorado at Boulder. (For more information on their fantastic work, click here).

A minimum team donation of $180 will grant you access to the festivities. An individual can also join up without a team for a minimum donation of $15.  We also have sponsorship opportunities available!

Space is limited, so click on the donate button to join now!

IF THE DONATE BUTTON FAILS TO WORK, OPEN THIS LINK IN A NEW TAB OR WINDOW AND TRY AGAIN.
  • There will be a minimum of 10 people (5 men, 5 women) per team
  • There will be a total of 8 teams, broken up into 2 groups
  • These two groups will compete in round robin play (3 games per team)
  • Costumes are not required, but are strongly encouraged.
The top finishers of each group will play for the Championship at 6PM!  One keg (maybe two kegs) of beer will be provided for all players (21 and over), and the champs will win (earn) a $100 gift certificate to the Draft House.  After the tournament, everyone interested in continuing in the festivities will head over to there for a little inter-squad eating and drinking.

The City of Boulder kickball rules will be in effect.

Availability is limited, so click on the donate button and sign up now!

Email KWB with any questions.

Thanks JVA!

We have a new sponsor!

JVA, Incorporated is a consulting Structural and Civil Engineering firm headquartered in Boulder, Colorado with a northern office in Fort Collins, Colorado, and a mountain office in Winter Park, Colorado. Since 1956, JVA has provided Structural Engineering services to Architects and Owners on building projects throughout the Rocky Mountain area and nationwide. Their Civil Engineering department, established in 1999, offers site design, stormwater, water, and wastewater services that complement their structural experience and allow them to fully meet your design and construction needs.

And now they are sponsors of KWB!  Much Thanks!

A Quick Note on EWB

Since this tournament is a fundraiser for Engineers Without Borders, it seems appropriate to say a word or two about who they are and what they do.

Engineers Without Borders-USA began in 2000 by Professor Bernard Amadei with the goal of creating positive change for developing communities through the combined efforts of students, faculty, professional engineers and community members. The CU chapter was the first in the organization that has now grown to include EWB-USA, which has 206 chapters and 130+ projects in 34 countries, with 4000+ members.

Successful implementation of the sustainable solutions EWB students develop requires both time and money.  Of course, all developing community projects are faced with similar challenges; but for EWB students the task is made even more daunting as they work on these projects while simultaneously completing a rigorous engineering curriculum in order to obtain their degrees.  Even so, they devote countless hours to this work.

The students put in the time; let's help them with the money.  100% of KWB tournament proceeds go to EWB, so join up or become a sponsor now!

... kickball is awesome, too.

A special thanks to our newest sponsor, Google!

In particular we would like to thank Nancy Trigg for helping to make this a reality.

You can battle The Google Empire on the kickball field on June 12, 2010 at The Stazio Ballfields.
